You can get a ton of free stuff if you know where to look when you are on the Internet. But you can often get more than you bargained for. A simple trick to avoiding a lot of spam is to set up a "junk" email address. They are free by the way.
Whenever you surf for deals, rebates or freebies, make sure to use the spam email address. This way your regular or main email will not be the target of spam and you will still be able to easily read the mail you want.
Also, and we can't stress this enough, always give the absolute minimum amount of information allowed in order to get the discount or product. You would be surprised at how much information people are unnecessarily giving out. It can also invite identity theft.
Also, any freebie that requires you to give bank or credit card information is not free and possibly a scam. Avoid those offers.
In short, there is tons of stuff, products and services that you can get for free or maybe just the low cost of shipping. (Also watch out for free offers that charge a very high shipping and handling fee. It means its not free at all)
